Ian C. Jarvie (1937-2023), British-born Canadian philosopher and sociologist. His major works include The Republic of Science: The Emergence of Popper's Social View of Science (1974), Philosophical Foundations of Economics (1984), and The Open Society and Its Enemies (1990, edited with Karl Popper). His fields of specialization were philosophy of science, social philosophy, and the history of science.
